What do all these people have in common?

A weekend pastor and church elder who has worked in the Kenyan insurance industry for over 30 years. A young Ghanaian who, at only 26 years old, has led his 70-strong tem to record sales and been promoted to Branch Manager. A Ugandan mother of four, with no prior corporate experience, who now earns for all her children to be sent to school. And finally, a team from Zambia who worked together to become the leading insurance team in their region.

They are all founding members of Prudential Africa’s new Diamond Club. They are all also key contributors to Prudential’s strong growth in Africa and. along with more than 70 other agents, were honoured at Prudential Africa’s inaugural Diamond Club event.

The Diamond Club, hosted by Matt Lilley, CEO of Prudential Africa, held its first reward trip to Dubai last week. Competition to qualify was tough, with over 2,500 eligible agents whittled down to 70 finalists.

From the list of finalists, 20 were named Triple Diamond Club winners for their exceptional results and the impact they have made on their teams, community and industry. Winners represented Prudential Africa’s businesses in Ghana, Kenya, Uganda and Zambia, with Team Ghana topping all three main categories for Triple Diamond Club honours.

Nic Nicandrou, Chief Executive of Prudential Corporation Africa, and Prudential Africa Board sponsor, opened the evening’s event by video, congratulating the special group of agents.

They are our first set of superstars in Africa,” he said. “They serve as a great example of what can be achieved when they are focused on goals, on delivery and on top performance. Their strength and resilience is what will set Prudential apart from the competition and their commitment and dedication is what will drive Prudential to become the leading insurer in Africa.

The evening closed with a video message from Prudential Singapore Wilf Blackburn, announcing to all those attending that qualifiers for Diamond Club 2019 will be hosted by the Prudential Singapore team.

Matt Lilley summed up: “After just a few short years, I am impressed to see how Prudential Africa has grown into a business with so many agents making an impact, not just within Prudential, but the industry as a whole. Like Asia’s President’s Club, which has been in place for 15 years, Diamond Club will set the standard of excellence in Africa as the highest level of achievement. I congratulate you on your achievement and look forward to seeing as many as possible of you qualifying for next year’s event.
