This renders a gap in that death from illness/sickness is excluded.
The plan pays out a lump sum in the event of death of an employee from natural causes only.

Life Extension

What is Life Extension ?

Given the nature of cover enshrined in both workers compensation and group personal accident, compensation is only provided at the occurrence of death resulting from an accident only. This renders a gap in that death from illness/sickness is excluded. It is for this reason that Prudential Uganda designed a group life extension plan as an expansion to the existing WC/GPA policies to bridge the gap.  The plan pays out a lump sum in the event of death of an employee from natural causes only.

Terminal illness refers to all those chronic illnesses that have no known cure or have progressed to a point beyond recover. Usually the assessing team will advise what the company has classified as a terminal illness and this is based on the risk appetite the Prudential policies accommodate.


A Filled in Group Life Proposal form, by a company official representative
A schedule of lives indicating:
Full Names of all members to be covered
Dates of Birth for each member
Monthly earnings
Desired level of cover (1 or up to 5 years’ Earnings)
Proof of premium payment

Yes, you can have more than one life insurance policy but this should be guided by the need one has, in-order to avoid being over or under insured.Remember to always choose a plan whose premiums you can afford to pay.

Yes, this could happen during onboarding of clients incase a member needs to be covered beyond the Free Cover Limit (a fixed maximum benefit given to members in a specific group life scheme) or a prospect that has an existing condition. Prudential refers this category of clients to a Doctor for the relevant examinations with Prudential paying the bill.
